A band I’ve followed for many years is finally getting the recognition they deserve, give them a listen, I doubt you’ll regret it!
So then, Mr Laurence Beveridge, today you are 23, and I know that you hate getting older but it’s a part of life that we sadly don’t have a choice in happening, I’d become 18 and stay it forever if I had my way…
I figured as your birthday present kind of sucked I’d do a special post on tumblr in the hope that maybe it’ll cheer you up about the fact that you’re now an older man ;).
Since I met you on September 24th 2010 I’ve seen your confidence grow a hell of a lot and we’ve had some funny times at gigs, like at St. Lukes Church when you said “Your hair looks nice, it’s not as messy as usual” or when we were trying to take that picture and you couldn’t stop laughing. And there was that time at the o2 on 26th October when you looked over at me as I was pulling funny faces and doing a stupid dance.
You’re incredibly talented, even if you don’t believe it and you’re one of those people who can put a smile on someone’s face no matter what – you and the rest of the boys stand up for what you believe in and that’s something I really respect you for. You saw what you didn’t want to be and have done everything to make sure that you don’t become something that you hate and to me that’s really inspiring.You’re such a creative person both in writing your book and the lyrics etc and you’re really talented at what you do – I know there will be people that try to knock you down but don’t ever give in to them, you’ve taught me and the rest of the killers not to ever let bullies get us down and to stay true to who we are and you boys, and the rest of the fans have all accepted me for who I am, and that’s incredible.
Anyway, enough of all this gooey crap, I just want you to know that you mean a lot to everyone – you’ve helped so many people in so many different ways and I’m really glad I met you and the rest of the boys. You’re encouraging, funny, caring, kind and talented and not to mention one of the nicest guys around. I really appreciate everything that you’ve done for me and I’m sure the rest of the killers do too, no matter what anyone says or thinks, you’re one of the good guys and they’re rare these days.
Stay true to yourself and don’t change for anyone, forget the fact that you’re a year older and celebrate and party till the cows come home, this is your day to do as you please so make it a goddun’ and your adapted present will be with you soon!
Thanks again for everything; I honestly don’t know what I’d have done without you at times, you’re such an inspiration. Sorry your birthday present was so awful, hope this makes up for it a bit!
